James Lawson Duty

James Lawson Duty, 78, of Winchester, Ky passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at his residence.
He was born in Grundy, VA to the late Jonah and Kelsie Duty.
He was a US Navy Veteran, a retired school bus driver for Whitley County, and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a talented singer and guitarist and enjoyed hunting and working on cars. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by 15 siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife Judy Duty; children, Donna Marie Duty, Christina Hernandez (Ted), and Faith Vaughn (Arthur); step-children Teresa Carroll, Connie Lane (Michael), and Steven Carroll (Cindy); sister Wadie Shelley (Morris); nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, January 22, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Jackson officiating.
Burial followed in the Rest Haven Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #88.
