George “Billy” Hamlin Jr., 60, of Ethan Powers Road, Williamsburg departed this life on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born on December 18, 1958 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Hoyt and Maxine (Stevens) Hamlin.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Hamlin and a brother, Gary Hamlin.

Billy was an employee of the University of The Cumberlands and a member of the Patterson Creek VFD for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Gibson) Hamlin of Williamsburg; his children, Elise Sawyers (Ray) of Williamsburg, Trittany Campbell of London, Tiffany Harris of Williamsburg, Bobby Hamlin of Williamsburg, Bobby Callen (Annette) of Williamsburg, Timmy Hamlin of Covington, Michael Hamlin of Covington and Anthony Hamlin of Covington; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers, Randy Hamlin (Wanda) of Williamsburg, Delano Hamlin (Deborah) of Williamsburg and Timmie Jo Hamlin (Rut) of Covington, OH; two sisters, Carol Carter of Illinois and Lisa Pool of Arkansas; special friend (Mamaw), Freida Collett of Williamsburg; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Saturday, May 11, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Powers and Rev. Joe Kersey officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the Freeman Cemetery.
