More than three years after Larry Stayrook Jr. allegedly sexually abused a 12-year-old girl, a judge will determine whether the case should be presented to a Knox County Grand Jury.
Stayrook, 46, of Corbin was arrested Wednesday on one count of first-degree sexual abuse. According to the arrest warrant, which was issued Jan. 29, 2010 based on information provided by Kentucky State Police Trooper Jason E. York, on June 1, 2007, used his finger to sexually assault the girl.
Trooper Jacob Wilson found Stayrook in a trailer on Jim Steele Hill and took him into custody on the warrant.
Stayrook pleaded not guilty to the charge at his arraignment Thursday in Knox District Court. He remains in the Knox County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
