One injured when motorcycle broadsides SUV

A Corbin man was taken to Baptist Health Corbin Monday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Gordon Street.

The wreck occurred about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Gordon and Earls Street.

According to police, the man on the motorcycle, identified as Robert Marcum, was travelling west on Gordon Street when the Kia Borrego SUV driven by Tawana Humfleet attempted to make a left turn onto east Gordon Street.

The motorcycle broadsided the SUV.

Officer Rick Baker said Marcum, who was wearing a helmet, suffered a bump on the head and some abrasions on his legs.

Whitley EMS transported Marcum to the hospital.

Gordon Street was closed to traffic for approximately 30 minutes as emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.

Corbin firefighters also responded to the scene.
