Frank “Sonny” King, Jr., 75, of Corbin passed away on Thursday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was a devoted Christian and hard working man who loved his Lord, church, and his family.

He was an active member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Corbin, and was a US Army Veteran.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank H. King Sr., mother, Nola Morgan King, daughter, Shawna M. Garland, and by two sisters, Betty Lou Karr and Nancy J. King.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Sears King; children; James Thompson and wife Sandra; Brian Atchison and wife Shirley; Chris King and wife Missy; Lisa Farmer, and Willie Nashwinter; 15 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and by many other family and friends including special lifelong friends, Bob Taylor and Lavina Johnson.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 20, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Mayle and Rev. Vernon Morris officiating.

Burial followed in Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin with military honors.
