Tilmon Swafford

Tilmon Swafford, 73, of McNeil Corn Creek, Rockholds, departed this life on Sunday, March 25, 2018.

He was born on December 11, 1944 in Manchester, to the late Woodrow Swafford and Susie (Nantz) Swafford.

He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam in 1967.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son, Tommy Joe Swafford; sister, Helen Johnson; brothers, John Swafford, Boyd Swafford and Delbert Swafford; and infant brothers, Wilton Swafford and Walter Swafford.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Swafford of Rockholds; two daughters, Malinda Philpot and her husband Charles of Corbin and Susie Wilson of Woodbine; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wilson, Ashley Monday, Kimberly Wilson and TJ Wilson; two great-grandchildren, Levi Wilson and Eden Monday; brother, Roy Swafford and wife Teresa of Rockholds; sister, Mary Swartz of Rockholds several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, March 28, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Decker and Rev. Dowel Goodin officiating.

Following the service he was laid to rest in the Swafford Cemetery.

Military graveside honors were conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin.
