Corbin Police investigating vandalism at 312 boat ramp picnic area

Corbin Police are asking for the public’s help to find the individual(s) responsible for the vandalism at the picnic area at the Ky. 312 boat ramp.

Police say the incident occurred between the hours of midnight and 8 a.m. Monday.

Rail fences were torn apart and set on fire.

A picnic table was moved from the shelter area to the circle.

“I don’t know if they were going to try and burn it or steal it,” said Corbin Police Captain Coy Wilson, the department’s public affairs officer. “That table weighed about 500 pounds.

Wilson said the fences have been repaired. However, the blackened area where the rails were burned remains visible.

“The fire was out by the time we found it,” Wilson said
