WYMT Fishing Expo returns to The Arena Friday

Date:

Corbin and the surrounding area offers a wide array of boating, fishing and outdoors opportunities and the fourth annual WYMT Kentucky Fishing Expo at The Arena in Corbin this weekend will feature the equipment and gear to help improve that experience out on the water.

The expo is scheduled to be open Friday through Sunday.

Event times are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

“It is a family event,” said Lonnie Marcum the show coordinator.

There are currently 30 to 40 vendors expected with everything from boats and boating equipment to fishing rods, reels and tackle.

“There will also be some kayaking and canoes,” Marcum said.

Pittsburg Marine, a Ranger boat dealer in London, will have a variety of new and used boats on display and available for purchase.

The featured guest will be professional angler Charlie Evans.

The Hazard native has been fishing professionally since 1971.

Evans, who is sponsored by Nickelodeon, will be doing demonstrations and speaking with the crowd throughout the expo.

“For the kids, we will have Paw Patrol all three days,” Marcum said.

Food and snacks will be available at the event, including treats from Ladonna’s Candy Kitchen.

It is not too late for vendors that may be interested in participating.

Marcum said space is available for rent starting at $350 for a 10 by 10 booth.

More information is available by contacting Marcum at (606) 244-5353.
