Ancil “Hoss” Lee Nichols, age 62, of Rockholds, Kentucky departed this life on March 28, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. Hoss was born on March 31, 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles Nichols and Nancey Jane (Baird) Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nancy Jane (Baird) Nichols and two brothers, Pleas Nichols and Charles Nichols.
Hoss is survived by his companion of over 40 years, Linda Phyllis Nichols of Rockholds, Kentucky; three daughters, Sheryl Strickland (Mike) of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Sharon Grossman of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Linda Hayes (John) of Rockholds, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren, Scottie Jones (Alicia), Cierra White (Chris), April Walden (Zach), Marcus Miller (Savannah), Guner Miller, David Miller, Michael Strickland, Jr., Heavenlee Strickland, Emilee Strickland, Cody Hayes (MacKenzie), Savannah Hayes, and Dalton Hayes; 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Vivian Graf of Dayton, Ohio, Lula Yarger of Hamilton, Ohio, Irene Robinson (Charlie) of Corbin, Kentucky, and Florence Anita Neal (Mike) of Corbin, Kentucky; two brothers, Henry Nichols of Corbin, Kentucky and Jimmy Lee Nichols (Michelle) of Corbin, Kentucky; many nieces and nephews and a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
Funeral service was Thursday, March 30, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Nichols officiating.
He was laid to rest in the Canadatown Cemetery.
