Dorothy “Dot” Ellen King, 92 of Corbin, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at her home in Corbin, after a valiant battle with cancer.
She was born September 6, 1924 in Pennington Gap, VA, to the late Robert T. and Laura Ellen (Pennington) Moseley.
She was a long-time, active member of Central Baptist Church in Corbin.
Dot retired after working many years at the Corbin Belk’s Store. She was the rudder who kept the King family on track. She loved to travel, was an excellent cook, an exceptional seamstress and an ardent reader.

Born January 28, 1919, in Bark Camp, KY, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Ida Morgan.
She was a member of Whippoorwill Pentecostal Church.

Born in Knox County, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Nannie Henson Garland.
Her husband E. J. Barton, a son E. J. Barton, Jr., daughter-in-law Sandra Barton, and 12 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Rosie had pastored the Dowis Chapel Holiness Church and lived out her faith each day. She cherished her family and time spent with them, and enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.

He was a son of the late Fred and Mildred Nash and beloved son-in-law of Ronnie and Betty Jones.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Cogdill McDaniel.
The funeral service was held Thursday, June 15, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Abner and Rev. Jimmy Elliott officiating.

Brenda Sue Stevens, 50, of Jellico, TN passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born September 22, 1966 in Clairfield, TN.
Brenda is preceded in death by her father, George Stevenson; Mother, Charlotte Jean Aumus Hicks; brother, Dennis Edward Stevenson.
She is survived by a daughter, Latesha Stevens; grandchildren, Jadon, Cloi and Camron Stevens; stepfather, Delbert Roscoe Hicks; brothers, Roscoe Ray Hicks, Jeffery Allen Hicks; sisters, Betty Lowe, Daisy Mae Hicks; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.
