Crusenberry – Slusher to wed in September

Gary and Tammy Crusenberry, of Williamsburg, announce the engagement of their daughter, Marah Lee Crusenberry, to Ben Slusher, son of Michael and Diane Slusher, of Middlesboro. Marah is a 2015 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She received her bachelors at University of the Cumberlands in 2019, and she received her masters at Liberty University in 2021. She is an Epidemiologist at the Kentucky Department of Public Health.  Ben received his bachelors at Eastern Kentucky University in 2018 and received his masters at University of the Cumberlands in 2020. He is a high school science teacher at Middlesboro High School. The two will say I do on September 4, 2021 in London. 

Warren – Muldowney to wed in November

Mike and Deborah Warren, of Savannah, Georgia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elaine Casey, to Justin David Muldowney, son of Dawn Freeman, of Buford, Georgia.  Casey is the granddaughter of Terry and Marion Forcht, of Corbin, and Irvin and the late Marita Wright, of Campbellsville.  Justin is the grandson of Diane and David Shagott, of Marco Island, Florida.  Miss Warren attended Georgia Southern University and received her Masters Degree from Valdosta State University. She teaches fourth grade at Norcross Elementary in Norcross, Georgia.  Mr. Muldowney is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. He is Project Manager at Nucor Skyline.  The wedding is planned for November 20, 2021, in Dawsonville, Georgia.

Andy and Judy Dunn celebrate 60th anniversary

Andy and Judy Dunn will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, August 5, 2021.  Family and friends are invited to wish them a happy anniversary. 

Canada – Smith announce wedding

Calvin and Susie Canada wish to announce the wedding of their daughter, Adriana Marie Canada to Billy Joe Smith, son of Billy and Helen Smith. The wedding will take place on Sunday June 6th, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Cumberland Freewill Baptist Church. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

Greg and Cathy Sims celebrate 50th Anniversary

Greg and Cathy Sims, of Williamsburg, are celebrating their 50th Anniversary on April 16. Greg and Cathy were married in 1971 after meeting at a local pub in New Jersey. They raised two sons, Brad & Joel and have eight grandchildren. After retiring, they settled in Williamsburg, in 2012, where they maintain a small Rescue Farm. Greg retired from Barnes Distribution as a Business Developer, and Cathy retired from Municipal Finance. Both of them have been involved in community activities during the past 50 years. Herbert and Joyce Gaddis celebrate 50th Anniversary

Herbert and Joyce Gaddis, of Corbin, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, September 26, 2020. The couple was united in marriage at Piney Grove with Pastor Shotwell officiating the ceremony. Herbert retired after 31 years with CSX Railroad. Joyce retired from being an RN at the Trillium Center. They have three children, Sandra Reeves, who is a lawyer in Corbin; Danny Reeves, who is a Federal Judge; and Michael Reeves, who also retired from the CSX Railroad.

Hamlin – Baker to marry

It is with great pride that Jeff and Gina Hamlin, of Williamsburg, Ky announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Taylor Cheyenne Hamlin and future son in law, Joshua Caleb Baker. Joshua was born in Somerset, Ky and raised in London, Ky. He attended the University of Kentucky earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Joshua currently works at the Lexington Fire Department where he’s been a firefighter for two years. Taylor was born in Corbin, Ky and raised in Williamsburg, Ky. Mannings celebrate 50th Anniversary

Conley and Janice (Buhl) Manning of Rockholds recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary. They were married on June 27, 1970. They are life-long residents of Whitley County and graduates of Williamsburg High School.  Conley is a retired educator who worked in both the Whitley County and Williamsburg Independent School Districts.  Janice is a retired instructional assistant from the Whitley County School District. Conley and Janice have one daughter, Karen (Bobby) Lee; three grandchildren, Kyle (Chelsea) West, Laura (Mark) Downs, and Michael Lee; and five great-grandchildren, Raylon West, Lauren and Logan Downs, and Aurora and Kaemdon Lee. Sesters to celebrate Golden Anniversary

Fifty years ago, on May 1st, 1970, Rev. Bill Childress assisted by Rev. Everett Hall of Owensboro, KY, united in marriage his and Martha Childress’ only daughter, Rena Lou to Jerry Sester, a young preacher from Hamilton, OH in the presence of many friends. Through the 50 years, there have been many of God’s blessings. Rena was an elementary teacher for Whitley County, mostly at Oak Grove Elementary School; her career being ended by cancer in 1998. Jerry was a factory worker, insurance agent, as well as many other employments since 1978.
