Corbin City Commission honors Corbin Elementary School Cheerleading Team

The Corbin City Commission recognized the Corbin Elementary School Cheerleading Team Monday for winning a state championship.

During the city commission’s monthly meeting, Corbin Mayor Suzie Razmus presented the team with a Corbin Colonel for having recently won the Kentucky Association of Pep Organization Sponsors (KAPOS) Large Elementary State Championship.

“From what I understand, this team just started last year,” explained Razmus noting that this year’s team returned 11 girls from last year’s squad in addition to 17 new girls.

The squad competed against 15 other teams to win the state championship.

“I am just so extremely excited,” Razmus said.

Cheerleaders on this year’s squad include: Olivia Goodin, Alivia Mayo, Emma Stanfill, Mia Rutland, Zoey Lawless, Lynnlee Pratt, Emery Bunch, Lorelei Pratt, Aubrey Lipstuer, Erin Troglen Quinn Mayo, Jaden Roundtree, Lynnley Crawford, Lola Onkst, Khloe Scalf, Callie Smith, Emma Kirby, Charli-Layne Stovall.
Lynlee Curry, Rylynn O’Kuma, Adhara Rayburn, Kylie Hinkle, Ellie Smith, Isabella Miller, Calleigh Jones, Rilyn Davidson, Blakely Godsey, Avery Bowling, Hadley Tyree, Ella Day, Mackenzie Smith, Mia Messer and Eleanor Roberts.
