Corbin woman charged with drug possession Wednesday

Date:

A traffic stop Wednesday led to the arrest of a local woman for drug possession, according to Corbin Police Chief David Campbell.

Erie Canada, 43, of Corbin, was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance following an investigation by Corbin police officers Glenn Taylor Jr. and Bill Rose.

Officers observed a vehicle allegedly speeding down Master Street and stopped the car in the parking lot of Corbin Station shopping center. Police say they witnessed the passenger, Canada, attempt to hide a pill bottle during the stop. Taylor and Rose located the bottle and discovered five different types of controlled substances inside.

Canada was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
