Donald Ray Bray

Date:

Donald Ray Bray, born on July 10, 1942 in Tazewell, TN, and resident of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away on January 2, 2025.
A resilient man of strong spirit and quiet dignity, Donald served his country proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He later dedicated himself to the US Postal Service, wearing the title of City Letter Carrier with pride until his retirement.
Donald was a loving husband to Ollie Bray, his wife of 62 years, and a devoted father to his sons, Frank, Greg, and Randy (Patty) Bray. His six grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other family members will greatly miss him. Donald was a cherished brother to Iona Desenberg, Geraldine McKinney, Christine Cary, Rita Bray, Steven Bray, and David Bray. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adron and Edna Bray, and his siblings, Dorphas and Brenda Sue Bray.
Donald was a member of the church of Christ and a man of faith. He enjoyed his privacy, living out the words of Albert Einstein, “I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity.”
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, at 12:00 pm at the Croley Funeral Home, located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 pm.
In these times of sorrow, we find solace in shared memories. We invite those who knew Donald to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. His story is not only in the life he lived but also in the lives he touched.
