Ernest Shelton, 84, of Canton, MI and formerly of Williamsburg, departed this life on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI.
He was born on December 31, 1934 in Siler, to the late Sie Shelton and Parisetta (Mahan) Shelton.
In addition to his parents, Ernie was also preceded in death by his wife, Addie Shelton; brothers Elzie Shelton and Ancil McKiddy; sister Zola Shelton. He was a member of the Masonic Order for over 50 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his son Ernest Shelton, Jr. (Terri) of Palm Coast, FL; seven grand grandchildren, Eric Shelton, Alex Shelton, Sara Shelton, Shea Shelton, Lindsay McMurray, Caitlyn McMurray, and Elizabeth Lund; daughters Victoria (Jeff) Armstrong of Oklahoma City, OK, Robin Lee (George Mitchell) Perry of Dalton, GA, Marletta (Dennis) Lawson, Siler; a loving niece, devoted cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 12, at the Croley Funeral Home.
Ernie was laid to rest at the A.C. Brown Cemetery in Williamsburg.
