Fatal accident on I-75N in Whitley Co. Monday

Kentucky State Police have confirmed that a man in his late fifties was killed during a single-vehicle accident on I-75 near mile marker 23 Monday morning.

Trooper Scotty Pennington said that the accident occurred just before noon Monday, and that the victim was a 58-year-old white male. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office.

Additional details about the identity of the victim are currently being withheld pending the notification of the next-of-kin. The scene has been cleared, and traffic on I-75 northbound has been restored to normal flow as of this report.
