Golden Alert ‘D’ issued for Keavy teen

Date:

Laurel County Sheriff John Root has issued a “Golden Alert D” for a 15-year-old Keavy girl.

Deputy Josh Scott is leading the investigation into the disappearance of Cherrah Witt, who has been missing from her home on Paris Karr Road, off of Rooks Branch Road, since approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday.

“She just wandered off,” said Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer.” The family said she has been known to do this before.”

Witt is described as a white female, 5’4”, 180 pounds, medium build, with hazel eyes, and brown shoulder length hair.

Though Witt has mental disabilities, Acciardo said she is not considered dangerous if a stranger approaches.

Anyone with information about Witt’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at (606) 864-6600 or (606) 878-7000.
