Imogene Poynter, 87, of Corbin passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin.
Born August 2, 1929, in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Bessie Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Poynter; brother, Bryan Thomas; and sister, Mary Vesta Carpenter.
She leaves behind a special nephew, Tom Hartford and wife Deanna; daughter, Peggy Poynter Devillez; son, Jimmy Poynter; grandchildren: Mitchell Devillez, Rebecca Poynter Powers, Shawn Borsch and wife Yoko, and Joshua E. Poynter; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Devillez, Brianna Devillez, Brittany Powers, Blake Powers, Brady Powers, and Bosten Powers, as well as other relatives and numerous friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 21, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Hammond officiating.
Burial followed in Parman Cemetery.
