Josephine L. Hoffman, 84, of Corbin passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at The Heritage.
Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bernice Weaver Poynter.
Her husband Carl Hoffman and brothers Walter “Buddy” Poynter, Jr., Eddie Poynter and Roy Poynter also preceded her in death.
Jo was raised and baptised at First Christian Church. She enjoyed fishing, had coached a girls’ softball team years ago and had been an avid bowler since the 1960s. She had operated the A-1 Pet Store for many years.
Survivors include her sons, David Hoffman, Robbie Hoffman, Carl Anthony “Tony” Hoffman, and Jimmy Joe Hoffman; a brother, Dean Poynter of Louisville; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Her visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.
