Laurel deputies asking for help to find Lowe’s shoplifter

 Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who was capture on video stealing more than $400 worth of tolls from Lowe’s home-improvement in southern Laurel County on January 19.

According to Sheriff John Root, the suspect came into the store just after 2 p.m. and went into the “Tool World” area. Video shows the suspect opening a box containing a DeWalt five tool 20V combo kit, taking the tools and then leaving the store without paying for them.

Retail value of the tools is $438.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s office at 606-864-6600 or 606-878-7000.

Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, the department’s public affairs officer, said the investigation has not turned up any similar incidents by this suspect at Lowe’s in London or any neighboring stores in North Corbin.

Deputy Kyle Gray is continuing the investigation.
