BID NOTICE:

The City of Jellico is now accepting sealed bids on a 1999 Performance 250 Brush Bandit. This machine does need minor repairs. Bids must include, buyers name, address, phone number, and letter of guarantee. All bids must be submitted by noon on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Bids will be opened at the City Council meeting on Thursday, October 16, 2025. The highest bidder will be notified by phone the following day. If the winning bidder is unable to complete the purchase of the vehicle, it will be offered to the next highest bid. Inspections may be scheduled by calling (423) 784-3798 Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. The City of Jellico reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

 

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids for the construction of Corbin Watershed No. 5 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation will be received by the City Utilities Commission at its offices at 1515 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, KY  40701 until 11:00 am (local time) on October 2, 2025, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

General Contractors (Prospective Bidders) Note Pre-qualification Requirements:

The Corbin City Utilities Commission is requiring all prospective bidders to be pre-qualified to bid this project. Pre-qualification requirements only apply to General Contractors. Pre-qualification requirements and forms can be obtained at the following address:

Upon review of the above requested information and after a determination that the prospective bidder is satisfactory to the City Utilities Commission, the prospective bidder will be approved to submit a bid for the project. Any bid submitted by a contractor that is not prequalified by the City Utilities Commission will not be accepted.

Copies of plans and specifications may be obtained from Lynn Imaging, 328 Old Vine Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40507 (859-255-1021) upon payment of a non-refundable price of $250.00 for each set (including shipping and handling).  Digital downloads are available at half the hard copy price.  No bid will be accepted unless the BIDDER is a registered plan holder and prequalified by the City Utilities Commission.  Questions shall be addressed to Alan R. Robinson, P.E. of Eclipse Engineers, PLLC, 113 West Mt. Vernon Street, Somerset, Kentucky 42501 (606-451-0959) as stated in the Specifications or by email to arobinson@eclipseengineers.net.

Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid to insure the execution of the contract for which the bid is made.  In case the bid is not accepted, the check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder, but if the bid is accepted and the bidder shall refuse or neglect to enter into a contract with the City Utilities Commission within ten (10) days after the time he has been notified of the acceptance of his bid, the said check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City Utilities Commission as liquidated damages for the failure to do so.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after closing time scheduled for the receipt of bids.

The City Utilities Commission reserves the right to waive informalities and to reject any and all bids.

Award of the Contract will be made to the lowest, responsive, responsible Bidder.

NOTICE OF BOND RELEASE

In accordance with KRS 350.093, notice is hereby given that Clay Laurel Mining, Inc has applied for a Phase I Bond Release on Permit Number 918-0498 which was last issued on 02/03/2025.  The application covers an area of approximately 50.0 acres located 2.0 miles southeast of Siler in Whitley County.

The proposed area is located 0.57 miles east of the intersection of KY 92 and Limestone Branch Road and is located 0.37 miles south of Popular Creek on Little Round Mountain in Whitley County.

The bond now in effect is $202,000 which is comprised of, letters of credit and cash bonds, Approximately 60% of the original bond amount of $202,000 is included in the application for release.

Reclamation work performed includes:  Backfilling, grading, and Grasses planted.

This is the final advertisement of the application. Written comments, objections, and requests for a public hearing or informal conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Field Services, #2 Hudson Hollow, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, by October 17th 2025.

A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for October 20th 2025 at the Department for Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement’s Middlesboro Regional Office, Regional State Office Building, 1804 E Cumberland Ave, Middlesboro, KY 40965.  The hearing will be canceled if no request for a hearing or informal conference is received by October 17th, 2025.
