Mr. Gatti’s in Corbin hosting child abuse awareness event on April 20

Date:

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and Mr. Gatti’s in Corbin is going blue on April 20 in an effort to shine some light on the problem.

“We are a children’s facility,” said April Goodin, general manager of the store located at Corbin Station on U.S. 25E.

Between noon and 3 p.m., children are invited to enjoy a free buffet lunch and meet with some of the characters from Paw Patrol.

In addition, several local organizations, including the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ Child Protection Branch, KCEOC Community Action Partnership, Inc., Mindsight Behavioral Group, and Benchmark Family Services, will be setting up information booths.

Goodin said the new owner of the Corbin Mr. Gatti’s, Deb Slone, also owns the Pikeville location, and has hosted a similar event at that location.

The Pikeville location recently hosted its third annual event.

“It is going to be an annual event here in Corbin as well,” Goodin said.
