Roy “Dabs” Lay, age 81 of the Wooldridge Community of Jellico, Tennessee passed away Friday, December 16, 2022, at Beech Tree Manor.
He was born September 25, 1941, in Newcomb, Tennessee.
Dabs is preceded in death by his wife, Violet (Rogers) Lay; father, William Morton Lay; mother, Ethel (Rutherford) Lay. brothers, Earl Lay, Floyd Lay, and Carl William Lay; and sisters, Wanda McCallister, and Della Hutson.
He is survived by daughters, Pamela Hackler and husband Keith, Rita Lay, and Donna Lay; grandchildren, Jenny Lay, and Alyssa Hackler; brother, Robert Lay and wife Jane; sisters, Ella Mae Douglas, and Margie Douglas; and a host of nieces, and nephews; and friends and family to mourn his passing.
Graveside services were Sunday, December 18 with Rev. Junior Dople officiating in the Douglas Cemetery, Wooldridge Community.
