W Ruby CraigRuby Watkins Parker Craig, 97, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday August 23, 2016 at her home.

She was born on October 9, 1918 in Fariston, KY to the late Jake and Samantha Edwards Watkins.

Ruby was a retired teacher from Laurel County Schools, a member of First Baptist Church in Corbin, and an avid gardener.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Parker and William Fayette Craig; daughter, Jean Parker Younce; son-in-law, Lee Younce; great-grandson Seth Madden; siblings, Earl Watkins, Mark Watkins, Albert Watkins, Anna Lee Parker, Lena Asher Jones, and Edna Evans Fetter.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Joyce Parker; granddaughter, Anne Younce Madden (Joe); grandson, Ed Younce (James); great-granddaughter, Leah Madden and great-grandson, Nathan Madden; brothers, Jakie Ray Watkins (Joan), and Billy Russell Watkins (Barb).

Funeral was held Friday at First Baptist Church 401 N. Laurel Avenue, Corbin, with Rev. Austin Carty and Rev. Paul Sims officiating.

Burial followed in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, in Lily.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knox-Whitley Animal Shelter, 66 Busy Lane, Corbin, KY  40701 or to First Baptist Church, 401 N. Laurel Avenue, Corbin.
