Ruth Ann Rains Shelton, 78, of Highway 904, Williamsburg, departed this life on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at her home.
She was born on July 24, 1939 in Whitley County, to the late Martin (Pud) and Flora Mae (Peace) Rains.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Shelton Sr; son, Larry Wayne Shelton; sister Thelma Monhollen; brothers-in-law, Archie Monhollen, Homer Creekmore, and Truman Faulkner.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Martin Shelton and wife Deonna of Williamsburg and Floyd Shelton Jr. and wife Teresa of Williamsburg; nine grandchildren, Tonya Shelton, Sonya Shelton, Steve Shelton, Larry Brandon Shelton, Catina Hope Shelton, Anthony Morgan, Amanda Shelton, Eric Shelton, and Derrick Shelton; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Creekmore of Williamsburg, Norma Jean Faulkner of Somerset, and Amy Barnhill of Williamsburg; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Walden officiating.
Following the service she was laid to rest in the Powers Cemetery on Highway 904.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
