SUV crashes through front of Lily Post Office

Date:

The driver was not injured but the Lily Post Office suffered extensive damage Saturday morning when an SUV crashed through the front of the building.

Laurel County Sheriff John Root stated that the crash happened about 9:15 a.m.

According to deputies, Clyde Liford of Corbin was parked in front of the post office, which is located on Ky. 552 between the Lily Fire Department and the Lily Shop ‘n Cart store.

Liford reportedly accidentally put the vehicle into drive instead of reverse and when the vehicle lunged forward he accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the break when he attempted to stop.
