Thelma Lawson Chinn, 92, of 13th Street, Williamsburg, departed this life on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London.

She was born on January 13, 1926 in Williamsburg, to the late Tom Henry Lawson and Martha Foley Lawson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer P. Chinn; son, Edward Chinn; and granddaughter, Jenny Bishop.

She was a retired school teacher for over 27 years at Williamsburg and Whitley County Board of Education. She was a member of Cumberland Freewill Baptist Church

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Schutz (husband Larry) of Corbin, and Marcy Catron of Louden, TN; son, Homer Ray Chinn of Greenville, SC; eight grandchildren, Wendy Roberts (Darren), William Schutz (Lisha), Matthew Fields, Kevin Bryant (Janet), Derek Bryant (Janine), Amanda Barley (Wesley), Cassie Trometer (Tyler) and Brian Chinn (Tammy); 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brother, Richard Lawson of Ocala, FL; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was held Monday, June 25, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Mullins officiating.

Following the service she was laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park.
