Two injured in crash in southern Laurel County Tuesday night

Date:

One person was entrapped inside a vehicle and another was ejected following a crash shortly after 8 p.m. On old London highway Tuesday.

One of the victims was transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The other was expected to be flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Because of the victim's weigh, an emergency helicopter that landed at the scene had to take back off and fly around for several minutes to reduce its fuel and weight load so the patient could be picked up and transported. Members of West Knox Volunteer Fire Department performed the auto extrication. No further details were known at press time. Check back regularly to thenewsjournal.net/ for more information.
