Wheeler Ray Smith, 71, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Born January 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Wheeler H. and Ruth Ann Smith.
He was a United States veteran of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Sheila Smith; two daughters: La Donna Smith of Richmond, and Tiffany Rapton of Arlington, TX; son, Christopher Meimann and wife Tina of Independence; four grandchildren: Yianna Rapton, Damon Meimann, Vincent Todd, and Tasha Meimann; brother, Ronald Smith of Florence; and sister, Mary Morton of Clay City; other relatives and numerous friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 17, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Hisle officiating.
Burial followed in Locust Grove Cemetery with full military rites by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.
Pallbearers will be Danny Smith, Ryan Smith, Nathan Hudson, and Christopher Meimann.
