Williamsburg defeats South Laurel, tied for first in 50th District

Date:

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets hosted the South Laurel Cardinals Thursday night in the final 50th District game of the 2014-15 regular season. It was a nail biter for the fans in attendance, but in the end the host Jackets would prevail by a final score of 55-51.

The win ties Williamsburg for first place in the district standings with Whitley County, each with a district record of 4-2. A method of determing the top seed in this year’s district tournament bracket will be decided at a meeting Monday morning at South Laurel High School. Whether it be a coin toss or a draw of some type, at this point everything is going to be left up to chance. Whoever takes the top seed will face Corbin in the first round of the tournament, and whoever is the second seed will face South Laurel.
