Williamsburg Police Department asking for leads in church vandalism

Date:

A Williamsburg church was vandalized last week with various slang terms spraypainted on the outside of the building, and now police are asking for the public’s help in finding the culprit.

Highland Park Baptist Church was vandalized in at least two areas of the building sometime between May 14 and 17, according to a release by the Williamsburg Police Department.

“We are asking that anyone with information regarding this investigation to please contact us,” the release read.

One image was included with the release; however, another image was not uploaded due to it being “vulgar and inappropriate.” In the image, there are various abbreviated terms, including “F12,” which is a known anti-police slogan.

Chief Jason Caddell stated Tuesday that they still currently don’t have any leads and are waiting on surveillance footage of the area.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to call Whitley County Dispatch at (606) 549-6017.
