Former Union College football player files federal lawsuit against school, suit since dismissed by judge

A federal lawsuit was filed last month against Union College—which recently rebranded as Union Commonwealth University—by a former football player alleging his athletic scholarship was unduly revoked; however, the suit was dismissed late last week by a federal judge.

The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court on Feb. 18 by Ernie Samuel. He filed the suit on his own behalf and without legal representation.
