Baptist Health Corbin launches new shuttle service for patients and visitors

Date:

Baptist Health Corbin is pleased to announce the launch of a new shuttle service designed to make it easier for patients and visitors to travel between the parking lots and the hospital entrances. This service provides a safe and convenient way to reduce the distance many guests must walk, ensuring a more comfortable experience for all.

Leading the way as the very first driver is Derek Smith, a dedicated volunteer who has stepped forward to help serve patients and families. He began driving the shuttle this week, and his commitment to giving his time and talents exemplifies the heart of volunteerism at Baptist Health Corbin.

“We are grateful to Derek for being the first to take on this important role,” said Joey Lee, Director of Security and Valet Services. “This shuttle service is another example of how we are working to put patients and families first making their visits easier, safer, and more welcoming.”

The shuttle service will run weekly. Patients and visitors can look for the clearly marked shuttle for quick and friendly transport to and from the hospital entrances.

Baptist Health Corbin extends its sincere thanks to Derek Smith for his volunteer service and for helping to make the first shuttle rides a success.

The Volunteer Services Department is looking for dedicated volunteers that would be willing to join its team and drive for the shuttle service.

For more information on becoming a volunteer, please contact Volunteer Services at (606) 523-8768 or brcvolunteers@bhsi.com.

Baptist Health Corbin is a 273-bed, acute care facility providing a wide variety of healthcare services to residents of Whitley, Knox, Laurel, Bell, Clay, Harlan and McCreary counties in Kentucky and Campbell County in Tennessee.
