A Corbin woman was arrested on meth and DUI charges Sunday after authorities found her slumped over in her vehicle in the drive-thru lane at Arby’s.
Authorities say 50-year-old Robin Estep had been sitting in her car at the drive-thru window of the south Corbin Arby’s for about an hour when an employee of the restaurant finally called police.
Corbin Police officers Stephen Meadors, Kirk Mays and Glenn Taylor Jr. found Estep unconscious in the driver’s seat of her vehicle and she had to be physically shaken before she would awaken. According to an arrest citation, Estep has bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and failed field sobriety tests. She said she had driven from her home at 80 Kirkland Ave. to Arby’s.
Police searched Estep and found a white powdery substance, believed to be methamphetamine, in some white tissue. Estep refused to take a urine test at police request.
Estep was charged with first-offense DUI and possession of methamphetamine. She was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center and remained there as of press time Tuesday on a $7,500 cash bond.
