South Laurel High School has emerged the number one team in the first Southeast Kentucky High School volleyball rankings. The Lady Cardinals have started the season with 15 wins in 17 games including a first place finish in the Pulaski County Invitational.
District opponents Pulaski County and Southwestern are second and third.
Rockcastle County proved they are still at the top of the 13th region with recent wins over Corbin and Whitley County. Another 12th region team rounded out the top five, the Wayne County Lady Cardinals.
The second five include three 15th region teams, Allen Central, Belfry and Johnson Central. Letcher Central, the defending 14th region champion is tied for eighth Johnson Central and rounding out the top ten is Middlesboro.
