pauline-stanleyPauline Joyce Stanley, 85, of Rockholds, departed this life on November 7, 2016.

Pauline was born in Williamsburg, to the late Stephen Daily Cordell and Lillian Rains Cordell on July 9, 1931.

Pauline was a retired teacher from Cumberland River Comprehensive Care with 32 years of service and she was a faithful lifetime member of Briar Creek Baptist Church.

Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love, generosity and faith.

Pauline was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Herman Leroy Stanley; son, Terry Lee Stanley; sisters, Iva Broyles, Evelyn Pollock; and brothers, David, Charles and Clifford Cordell.

Pauline leaves behind one son, Stephen David Stanley of Ohio; two grandsons, Mark (Kathy) Stanley of Williamsburg and Bradley Stanley of Ohio; two granddaughters, Tracy Skidmore of Williamsburg and Alicia (Zack) Dill of Ohio; three great grandchildren, Camden and Kirsten Skidmore and Gauge Stanley of Williamsburg; daughter-in-law, Linda Stanley of Williamsburg; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 10 with the Reverend Bill Mitchell officiating.

Burial followed at the Broyles Cemetery in Rockholds.  A dinner service by Oral Lewis was held at Brashear’s for all friends and family following the service.
