Morris Ray Jones, 67, of Chesnee, SC, departed this life on April 5, 2017.
He was the husband of Martha Jones.
He was born in the Duckrun area of Whitley County, on May 23, 1949, the son of the late Reverend and Mrs. Emerson and Icie Alsip Jones.
He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Opal Reynolds; and three brothers, Daryl, James, and Adam Troy Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Jones; daughter, Denise Lamb and husband Rick; granddaughter, Kelsey Paulsgrove; stepson, Michael Doran; three brothers, William, Leroy, and Ralph Jones; and five sisters, Delphine Mailo, Edna Walker, Georgia Rude, Wanda Lawson, and Darlene Watson; and many other relatives and friends, who will always remember his thoughtful acts of kindness, his pleasant joking attitude, and his love for his family and friends.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home with the Rev. Janus Jones officiating.
He was laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
