Virginia “Jenny” Jo Lay, 70, of Jellico, TN passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at her home.

She was born October 30, 1946 in Claiborne County, TN.

Jenny enjoyed her pets, making quilts, family and going to Walmart.

Jenny is preceded in death by her father, Claude M. Metzler; mother, Maggie Kimberlin Metzler; son, Ricky Lynn Marlow; great granddaughter, Natalee Kay Elliott; brother, Claude Metzler, Jr.; sisters, Tommi Dunlap, Brenda Adkins, Sandra Pierce.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie “Slim” Lay; son, Orvil Marlow, Jr.; daughters, Janice Latchford and husband Kenny, Angie Riley and husband Mike, Audrey Lavendar and husband Patrick, Martha Clifton and husband Tim, Joyce Ann Chesser, ​Jerri Lea Lay; fourteen grandchildren, Brian, Steven, Stacy, Kim, Sarah, Michael, Raven, Dakota, Sienna, Nathan, Haley, Denzel, Leanna and Michelle; thirteen great grandchildren, Audrey, Brandon, Adian, Ferra, Declan, Anthony, Gloria, Katelynn, Elijah, McKenna, Sabrina, Zayvion and Everlie Jo; sisters, Grace Trumbull and husband Richard. Daisy Wheeler and husband Edward, ​Kimberly McGuire, ​Nicki Ball and husband Russell, Mary Stinnette and husband Wayne; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family to mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m.  on Thursday, October 5, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Dople officiating.

Burial will be held Friday, October 6, in the Douglas Cemetery (Wooldridge Community).

Harp Funeral Home of Jellico is in charge of arrangements.
