Whitley Board of Education discusses impact of potential cuts to state budget

January is school board member appreciation month and Whitley County Board of Education officials received a number of gifts during Thursday’s monthly board of education meeting. From left to right, board members J.E. Jones, Larry Lambdin, Brenda Hill and Malorie Cooper. Board members voted during the meeting to move their regular monthly meetings to 5 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month instead of 6 p.m.

Whitley County school officials are concerned about the budget for the next school year, and how any state budget cuts could impact the district.
