Second co-defendant pleads in federal drug case involving former police officer

The second of two co-defendants in former Corbin Police Officer Bronson Fugate’s federal drug conspiracy case has pleaded guilty.

Former Corbin police officer Bronson Fugate is scheduled to go to trial in May for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Richard Stanley, 43, of Corbin, pleaded guilty last Thursday to conspiracy to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.

According to the plea agreement, Stanley admitted that between April and July 2017, Fugate provided him with the methamphetamine, which he then distributed throughout Laurel and Whitley County.
