Violet Dizney Willis, 80, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home.

Born in Corbin, Violet was the daughter of the late Homer and Rosie Jones Dizney. She had a multitude of wonderful friends.

Very special to her was her Piney Grove Baptist Church family whom she spent much time with in fellowship and worship.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Willis, brothers Perry Disney and Homer Dizney, and half-brother Roy Dizney and half-sister Louise Houze.

She is survived by her children Tim Willis (Wilhelmina), Ellen Trent (Robert), Elaine Daly (Sean) and Gloria Tillett (Stan); grandson Curtis Ray Willis (Pauli); brother Chester Dizney (Lettie); sister Ruth Brian; several step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends all to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was held Friday, April 20, at Vankirk-Grisell  Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Rogers officiating.

Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chuck Brian, Johnny Dizney, Donald Brian, Tyler Brian, John Allen, Tim Bryant, Jack Willis III, and Curtis Willis. Honorary pallbearers were sons-in-law Robert Trent, Sean Daly, and Stan Tillett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Piney Grove Baptist Church, 996 Standard Ave., Corbin, KY 40701.
