Whitley Circuit Clerk takes down a bull elk

Whitley Circuit Clerk Gary Barton recently harvested this bull elk in Pike County. Elk hunting is legal in Kentucky, but is limited by an annual lottery for elk permits through the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. A total of 594 elk permits were available in 2021.
