Case against Williamsburg man accused of fatally shooting step-son to be heard by grand jury next month

Additional details about a fatal shooting that took place earlier this month in Whitley County were shared during a preliminary hearing Monday.

Martin A. Canada, 48, of Williamsburg, appeared in Whitley District Court for the hearing, where Kentucky State Police Detective Samuel Peace, who is the investigating officer in the case, provided testimony before the court.

Canada faces a murder charge for allegedly fatally shooting his step-son, Kyle W. Chadwell, 31, of Williamsburg, at their Patrick Hollow Road residence on Sept. 14.
