Making an impact: Hundreds flocked to Briar Creek Park on Saturday to participate in the Child Abuse Awareness Event hosted by the Whitley County Health Department. There was a number of community agencies on hand to offer information about their services, as well as provide a variety of giveaways and prizes. An egg hunt was also held for ages 3 and under and another for 4 and up. Ashley Lawson, health educator at WCHD, said she was overjoyed with the turnout.
