Log truck overturns in Gray

Date:

The driver of the truck, Jack Elliott, Jr. of Woodbine, said he was bruised but otherwise uninjured following the wreck between Tower Road and Young’s Creek about 2:45 p.m.

Elliott said he was travelling north with a load of logs en route to Forest Products in Gray when the right wheels of the truck got too far off the road, flipping the truck off the road and into an embankment.

A nearby utility pole was broken off when it was struck by the rolling truck. A utility crew was called to disconnect the power at the pole.

Knox County EMS responded to the scene but Elliott refused transport to the hospital.

Knox County Sheriff’s deputies, Knox County Constable Carl Bolton and Woodbine firefighters also responded to the scene.
