All-District Team

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets reaped the benefits of an outstanding year on the grid-iron when the 2004 Region IV, District 7, All-District Team was announced today.
Coach Jim Black, who led the Yellow Jackets to a 12-1 record and undefeated season in the regular season was named the Distric Coach of the Year.
Senior quarterback Andy Greer was named the Player of the Year after throwing the football for 2,782 yards and completing 59 percent of his passes. He threw for 33 touchdowns and ran for 15 TD’s during his senior season.
Other awards were handed out to: Best Quarterback, Drew Allison of Cumberland High School; Best Running Back, Jimmy Chaffin, Lynn Camp; Best Offensive Lineman, Mark Middleton, Evarts and Best Receiver, Matt Jones, Williamsburg.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Best Lineman was Harlan’s Jake Anderson, Best Lineback, Steve Howard, Pineville and Best Defensive Back, Alec Day of district champion, Williamsburg.
Harlan’s Andrew Grieshop was named the district’s top punter/kicker while Scotty Newell of Somerset was the Best Special Teams Player.
