Alleged burglar even takes kitchen sink

A Williamsburg man is being held in the Whitley County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash bond for allegedly breaking into a residence under construction and stealing several items including a kitchen sink.
Judge Fred White entered a not guilty plea for Ricky J. Fox, 37, of 2490 Maple Creek Road, during his district court arraignment Monday morning.
Fox also pleaded not guilty to a charge of violating a Kentucky emergency protective order/domestic violence order.
On Sept. 8, Fox allegedly took property from a residence under construction belonging to Sherry Bingham and her brother, Chad Bunch, Kentucky State Police Trooper Gary Martin stated in the arrest warrant.
“The stolen property included kitchen cabinets attached to walls, a refrigerator, washer and dryer, hot water heater, bedroom suite, kitchen and bathroom sinks, and other household items,” Martin wrote.
Fox allegedly told a neighbor about a week earlier that he was going to get the refrigerator, Martin wrote.
On Sept. 12, the victims recovered most of their stolen property from “It’s New to You,” which is a used furniture store in Williamsburg, according to the arrest warrant.
“The store owner, Ron Senters, said that Rick Fox sold him the items. Senters also said that Fox told him he was remodeling a house for a ‘buddy’ and said the friend gave him the items,” Martin wrote.
Martin served Fox with the arrest warrant charging him with second-degree burglary about 10:17 p.m. Friday.
Martin arrested Fox on the DVO violation charge about 11:19 p.m. on Sept. 11 at a residence off Maple Creek Road.
Martin located Fox at a residence belonging to a woman, who had a DVO against him. He went to the residence to talk with Fox about an unrelated case and found him hiding in a closet, Martin stated on the arrest citation.
White scheduled a Sept. 22 preliminary hearing in the burglary case, and a Sept. 22 pretrial conference in the domestic violence order violation case.
