The following list contains firearms that are unaccounted for following an examination of the evidence storage, written evidence logs, and documents pertaining to the release of property found at the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department following an alleged burglary which was reported on December 21, 2009.
This list was compiled internally by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department with the assistance of Special Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (“ATF”). Not all of these firearms are believed to be stolen, but the firearms still need to be accounted for by law enforcement.
Some of these firearms may have already been lawfully released by the Sheriff’s Department, but records documenting such release were not found following the burglary. Both the ATF and the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department ask if you are in possession of one of the below-listed firearms, know of the location of any of these firearms, or have any information concerning any of these firearms, please contact the ATF London Office at (606) 864-5523 ext. 126.
