Baptist Health Corbin recently celebrated receiving the American College of Cardiology’s (ACC) Platinum Performance Award for the third consecutive year. This prestigious recognition highlights the hospital’s dedication to delivering the highest standard of care for heart attack patients.
The award acknowledges Baptist Health Corbin’s consistent success in meeting the aggressive standards set by the ACC for recognizing and treating chest pain and heart attack patients.
To receive this award, the hospital demonstrated sustained excellence over the past two years (2022 and 2023), excelling in the 99th percentile on key performance measures that ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and optimal patient outcomes. Baptist Health Corbin joins only 258 other hospitals in the United States that have achieved this level of success.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 800,000 Americans suffer a heart attack annually. Effective treatment involves timely interventions, such as administering aspirin on arrival, restoring blood flow to blocked arteries, and offering smoking cessation counseling and cardiac rehabilitation.

The Chest Pain – MI Registry empowers healthcare teams to consistently provide heart attack patients with care that aligns with the latest scientific guidelines. This initiative helps establish a national standard for improving the quality, safety, and outcomes of care for patients with coronary artery disease, especially those at high risk for heart attacks.
