Barbara Eileen Ramsey, age 87, of Ingram, Kentucky and formerly of Pineville, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Williamsburg Health and Rehab Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Barbara was born on June 4, 1934 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Elmer Jerome and Marie (Smith) Cox. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Ramsey; sister, Cora Francis Hacker; and brothers, Jerome Cox and Charlie Cox.
Barbara was a graduate of Cumberland College. She was a retired educator with the Whitley Board of Education and taught school at Liberty School. She was a member of Moss Chapel Missionary Church.
She is survived by three sisters, Alma Wilson of Williamsburg, Caroline Ball of Whitley City, Kentucky and Beverly Hughes (Bill) of Knoxville, Tennessee; special nieces and nephews, Tonya Pemberton, Connie Cain, Hannah Hughes, Lillian Hughes, Roger Wilson, Josh Wilson, Billy Hughes, Chad Hughes, Brandon Pemberton and Kailey Allen; and a host of friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral services were Sunday, August 15, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Miracle officiating. Following the service she was laid to rest in the Barren Fork Cemetery in McCreary County, Kentucky.
